The Old Cooperage celebrates the historic relationship between Château Tanunda and A.P. Johns Coopers. Since establishing the Château Tanunda Cooperage in 1889, four generations of the John family have worked in coopering in the Barossa and still provide barrels to our winery.
For this limited release wine of just 400 dozen, we selected special parcels in Bethany and the Eden Valley to craft our 2018 Old Cooperage Grenache.
Lifted aromas of cherry, raspberry, and liquorice are accompanied by spicy red berry fruits on the palate. The finish is long with fine-grained tannins from 16 months maturation in American and French oak 300 litre hogshead barrels from the AP Johns cooperage.
