The Old Cooperage celebrates the historic relationship between Château Tanunda and A.P. Johns Coopers. Since establishing the Château Tanunda Cooperage in 1889, four generations of the John family have worked in coopering in the Barossa and still provide barrels to our winery.
For this limited release wine of 400 dozen we selected a special parcel of Grenache from the Stonewell sub-region of the Barossa Valley.
Lifted aromas of cherry, raspberry, and liquorice are accompanied by spicy red berry fruits on the palate. The finish is long with fine-grained tannins from 16 months maturation in American and French oak barrels.
