A limited Museum release of our iconic Everest Grenache which won the trophy for “BEST SINGLE ESTATE WINE IN THE WORLD” at International Wine and Spirits Competition 2010.
From a premium single parcel of Grenache in the Greenock sub-region, the wine is hand-crafted with the use of small open fermenters, hand-plunging and carefully basket-pressed. It then spends 24 months in new French oak puncheons before being bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve the purity and flavours of the wine.
2008 was a particularly ideal year for Grenache in the Barossa with warm-temperatures cooling off towards the end of vintage when this late variety was picked.
A graceful, elegant yet powerful Grenache rated amongst the best in the world.
97 Points – Huon Hooke:
Deep red colour with a purple tint. The bouquet shows development and is beautifully complex, with a savouryness that is apropriate to its age. Vegemite yeast-lees character, the palate absurdly rich and concentrated, super-ripe, a touch raisiny, fabulous wine. Luscious and terrifically long
